New initiatives and new approaches have been emerging for some time. This article outlines one Canadian initiative. The International Consortium for the Advancement of Academic Publication (ICAAP) provides a unique and low\u2010cost publication alternative for those seeking to move outside the commercial mainstream of scholarly journal publication.
