Phys."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2014,5,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title>\n               <jats:p>We analyze, from the thermodynamical point of view, mechanical systems in which there is the production of mechanical energy due to an internal source of energy, and compare that analysis with a similar one for the \u2018symmetric\u2019 motion that occurs with energy dissipation. The analysis of the energetic asymmetries is instructive to put in evidence the role of thermodynamics even in the discussion of mechanical aspects.
