The goal is to search for radiative decays of axion-like particles (ALPs) in the mass range of 2.7\u20135.3 eV. After taking into account the uncertainties associated with the DM spatial distribution in the galaxies, we derive robust bounds on the effective ALP-two-photon coupling.\nThey lie well below the QCD axion band and are significantly more constraining than limits from other probes, in the relevant mass range.\nWe also test the possible presence of a positive signal, concluding that none of the wavelength channels selected for this analysis, i.e., not affected by large background contamination, is exhibiting such evidence.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1088\/1475-7516\/2024\/05\/043","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2024,5,8]],"date-time":"2024-05-08T12:27:45Z","timestamp":1715171265000},"page":"043","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1088\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":26,"title":["Robust bounds on ALP dark matter from dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the optical MUSE-Faint survey"],"prefix":"10.1088","volume":"2024","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-7419-0976","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Elisa","family":"Todarello","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Marco","family":"Regis","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Javier","family":"Reynoso-Cordova","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Marco","family":"Taoso","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Daniel","family":"Vaz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Jarle","family":"Brinchmann","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Matthias","family":"Steinmetz","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Sebastiaan L.","family":"Zoutendijk","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"266","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2024,5,8]]},"reference":[{"key":"b98a24f8ac9e204f7cc432f37f81d4e78","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"127","DOI":"10.1016\/0370-2693(83)90637-8","article-title":"Cosmology of the Invisible Axion","volume":"120","author":"Preskill","year":"1983","journal-title":"Phys.
