Inst."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2025,3,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title>\n               <jats:p>The CMS Collaboration will replace its current endcap calorimeters with the new high\n  granularity calorimeter (HGCAL) for operations at the HL-LHC. The HGCAL back-end DAQ\u00a0(Data\n  Acquisition) system comprises 96 FPGA-based ATCA\u00a0(Advanced Telecommunications Computing\n  Architecture) boards, each processing data from 108 input optical fibres operating at\n  10 Gb\/s. This paper describes in detail the architecture and prototyping of the elementary unit in\n  the back-end DAQ system of the HGCAL. We then describe and evaluate its integration and\n  performance in a full detector test system.
