Theor."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2024,8,9]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title>\n               <jats:p>We study the Skyrmion of the <jats:italic>SO<\/jats:italic>(2) gauged <jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>(3) sigma model in <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:tex-math\/>\n                     <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\">\n                        <mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mn>2<\/mml:mn>\n                           <mml:mo>+<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mn>1<\/mml:mn>\n                        <\/mml:mrow>\n                     <\/mml:math>\n                  \n                  <\/jats:inline-formula> dimensions in the presence of a Skyrme\u2013Chern\u2013Simons (SCS) term, and compare its properties with the corresponding properties of the Skyrmion in the presence of the usual Chern\u2013Simons (CS) term. We find that these properties are qualitatively largely similar in both cases, meaning that the SCS density can be employed as an alternative to the CS term also in higher dimensions, most importantly in even dimensions where no CS term is defined, <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:tex-math\/>\n                     <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\">\n                        <mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mi>e<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mo>.<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mi>g<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mo>.<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mo>,<\/mml:mo>\n                        <\/mml:mrow>\n                     <\/mml:math>\n                  \n                  <\/jats:inline-formula> in <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:tex-math\/>\n                     <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\">\n                        <mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mn>3<\/mml:mn>\n                           <mml:mo>+<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mn>1<\/mml:mn>\n                        <\/mml:mrow>\n                     <\/mml:math>\n                  \n                  <\/jats:inline-formula> dimensions. The SCS density employed here is defined in terms of the pair of <jats:inline-formula>\n                     <jats:tex-math\/>\n                     <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" overflow=\"scroll\">\n                        <mml:mrow>\n                           <mml:mi>S<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mi>O<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mo stretchy=\"false\">(<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mn>2<\/mml:mn>\n                           <mml:mo stretchy=\"false\">)<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mo>\u00d7<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mi>S<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mi>O<\/mml:mi>\n                           <mml:mo stretchy=\"false\">(<\/mml:mo>\n                           <mml:mn>2<\/mml:mn>\n                           <mml:mo stretchy=\"false\">)<\/mml:mo>\n                        <\/mml:mrow>\n                     <\/mml:math>\n                  \n                  <\/jats:inline-formula> gauge fields and an auxiliary <jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>(5) Skyrme scalar, which is contracted to an effective <jats:italic>O<\/jats:italic>(3) Skyrme scalar.
