Sub-ballistic states are found within the narrow-band region around the magic angle. Such states are delocalized in momentum-space and follow non-Poissonian level statistics, in contrast with their ballistic counterparts found for close commensurate angles. Transport results corroborate this picture: for large enough systems, the conductance of samples with fixed width decreases with the system size in the longitudinal direction for incommensurate angles within the sub-ballistic regime. Our results show that incommensurability\/quasiperiodicity effects are of crucial importance in the narrow-band regime. The incommensurate nature of a general twist angle must therefore be taken into account for an accurate description of magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1088\/2053-1583\/ac3259","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2021,10,22]],"date-time":"2021-10-22T18:13:59Z","timestamp":1634926439000},"page":"011001","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1088\/crossmark-policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":19,"title":["Incommensurability-induced sub-ballistic narrow-band-states in twisted bilayer graphene"],"prefix":"10.1088","volume":"9","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-4786-539X","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Miguel","family":"Gon\u00e7alves","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Hadi Z","family":"Olyaei","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8566-0718","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Bruno","family":"Amorim","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-8005-2297","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Rubem","family":"Mondaini","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-7630-2054","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Pedro","family":"Ribeiro","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-0993-3734","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Eduardo V","family":"Castro","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"266","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2021,11,11]]},"reference":[{"key":"tdmac3259bib1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1103\/PhysRevLett.99.256802","type":"journal-article","article-title":"Graphene bilayer with a twist: electronic structure","volume":"99","author":"Lopes Dos Santos","year":"2007","journal-title":"Phys.
