Comp."],"abstract":"<p>\n                    This paper establishes a\n                    <italic>unified<\/italic>\n                    a posteriori error estimator for a large class of conforming finite element methods for the Reissner-Mindlin plate problem. The analysis is based on some assumption (H) on the consistency of the reduction integration to avoid shear locking. The reliable and efficient a posteriori error estimator is robust in the sense that the reliability and efficiency constants are independent of the plate thickness\n                    <inline-formula content-type=\"math\/mathml\">\n                      <mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\" alttext=\"t\">\n                        <mml:semantics>\n                          <mml:mi>t<\/mml:mi>\n                          <mml:annotation encoding=\"application\/x-tex\">t<\/mml:annotation>\n                        <\/mml:semantics>\n                      <\/mml:math>\n                    <\/inline-formula>\n                    .
