Lyman \u03b1 (Ly\u2009\u03b1) emitters (LAEs) at z\u00a0\u223c\u00a02\u20136. We find typical stellar masses of 109.3\u00a0\u00b1\u00a00.6\u2009M\u2299 and star formation rates (SFR) of SFR$_{\\rm SED}=4.4^{+10.5}_{-2.4}$\u2009M\u2299\u2009yr\u22121 and SFR$_{\\rm Ly\\,\\alpha }=5.9^{+6.3}_{-2.6}$\u2009M\u2299\u2009yr\u22121, combined with very blue UV slopes of $\\beta =-2.1^{+0.5}_{-0.4}$, but with significant variations within the population. MUV and \u03b2 are correlated in a similar way to UV-selected sources, but LAEs are consistently bluer. This suggests that LAEs are the youngest and\/or most dust-poor subset of the UV-selected population. We also study the Ly\u2009\u03b1 rest-frame equivalent width (EW0) and find 45 \u2018extreme\u2019 LAEs with EW0 &amp;gt; 240\u2009\u00c5 (3\u03c3), implying a low number density of (7\u00a0\u00b1\u00a01) \u00d7 10\u22127\u2009Mpc\u22123. Overall, we measure little to no evolution of the Ly\u2009\u03b1 EW0 and scale length parameter (w0), which are consistently high (EW$_0=140^{+280}_{-70}$\u2009\u00c5, $w_0=129^{+11}_{-11}$\u2009\u00c5) from z\u00a0\u223c\u00a06 to z\u00a0\u223c\u00a02 and below. However, w0 is anticorrelated with MUV and stellar mass. Our results imply that sources selected as LAEs have a high Ly\u2009\u03b1 escape fraction (fesc,Ly\u2009\u03b1) irrespective of cosmic time, but fesc,Ly\u2009\u03b1 is still higher for UV-fainter and lower mass LAEs. The least massive LAEs (&amp;lt;109.5\u2009M\u2299) are typically located above the star formation \u2018main sequence\u2019 (MS), but the offset from the MS decreases towards z\u00a0\u223c\u00a06 and towards 1010\u2009M\u2299.
