On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity, the strains belonged to the family <jats:named-content xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" content-type=\"family\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:ext-link ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.5217\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                        <jats:italic>Sporolactobacillaceae<\/jats:italic>\n                     <\/jats:ext-link>\n                  <\/jats:named-content> and were closely related to <jats:named-content xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" content-type=\"species\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:ext-link ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.10987\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                        <jats:italic>Pullulanibacillus naganoensis<\/jats:italic>\n                     <\/jats:ext-link>\n                  <\/jats:named-content> ATCC 53909<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> (97.9\u200a%). Unlike <jats:named-content xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" content-type=\"species\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:ext-link ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.10987\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                        <jats:italic>P. naganoensis<\/jats:italic>\n                     <\/jats:ext-link>\n                  <\/jats:named-content>, strains UG-2<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> and UG-3 grew in medium containing up to 5000 p.p.m. U(VI) but did not hydrolyse pullulan. Chemotaxonomic data also supported the affiliation of strains UG-2<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> and UG-3 to the genus <jats:named-content xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" content-type=\"genus\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:ext-link ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.10423\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                        <jats:italic>Pullulanibacillus<\/jats:italic>\n                     <\/jats:ext-link>\n                  <\/jats:named-content>. Physiological and biochemical tests along with fatty acid composition allowed differentiation of strains UG-2<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> and UG-3 from <jats:named-content xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" content-type=\"species\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:ext-link ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.10987\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                        <jats:italic>P. naganoensis<\/jats:italic>\n                     <\/jats:ext-link>\n                  <\/jats:named-content>. It is suggested that strains UG-2<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> and UG-3 represent a novel species, for which the name <jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"http:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1601\/nm.10423\" xlink:type=\"simple\">\n                     <jats:italic>Pullulanibacillus<\/jats:italic>\n                  <\/jats:ext-link> \n                  <jats:italic>uraniitolerans<\/jats:italic> is proposed; the type strain is UG-2<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> (\u200a=\u200aDSM 19429<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup>\u200a=\u200aLMG 24205<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup>).
