The aim of this study was to measure the<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>H\/<jats:sup>1<\/jats:sup>H,<jats:sup>18<\/jats:sup>O\/<jats:sup>16<\/jats:sup>O,<jats:sup>13<\/jats:sup>C\/<jats:sup>12<\/jats:sup>C ratios of these juices and their elemental profile and to establish a database of authentic values to be used for adulteration and authenticity testing. Our results have shown mean values of<mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>\u03b4<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>18<\/mml:mn><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msup><mml:mtext>O<\/mml:mtext><mml:mo>=<\/mml:mo><mml:mo>-<\/mml:mo><mml:mn>4.2<\/mml:mn><mml:mtext>\u2030<\/mml:mtext><\/mml:math>and<mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><mml:mi>\u03b4<\/mml:mi><mml:mtext>D<\/mml:mtext><mml:mo>\u03b4<\/mml:mo><mml:mo>-<\/mml:mo><mml:mn>46.5<\/mml:mn><mml:mtext>\u2030<\/mml:mtext><\/mml:math>, respectively, for apples from Transylvania and at the same time the mean value of<mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><mml:msup><mml:mrow><mml:mi>\u03b4<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>13<\/mml:mn><\/mml:mrow><\/mml:msup><mml:mtext>C<\/mml:mtext><mml:mo>=<\/mml:mo><mml:mo>-<\/mml:mo><mml:mn>28.2<\/mml:mn><mml:mtext>\u2030<\/mml:mtext><\/mml:math>. The content of Cd, Pb, U, Zn, As was below the acceptable limits stipulated in US-EPA standard for drinking water.
