Earth Independent Medical Operations is the transition to autonomous astronaut care, necessitating proper equipment for managing medical emergencies. Analog missions simulate space missions on Earth, enabling safe and cost-effective testing of technologies, refining protocols, and enhancing decision-making skills. High-stress, realistic simulations are among the most effective training methods.<\/jats:p>\n                <jats:p>A new training system for managing medical emergencies during deep-space missions was developed, simulating real-time scenarios akin to a Situation Room. This system dynamically updates vital signs and critical data based on crew and mission control decisions through multiple-choice responses, assessing medical knowledge, procedural execution, and non-technical skills such as situational awareness, teamwork, task load, and communication.<\/jats:p>\n                <jats:p>An analog lunar mission simulation involving four astronauts and four mission control personnel served as the initial test. All astronauts underwent the same medical training except for the crew medical officer, who had relevant expertise. The scenario, focusing on a cerebrovascular accident, lasted about two hours, while supervisors evaluated teamwork using the Team Emergency Assessment Measure survey. Participants then completed NASA\u2019s Task Load Index to assess their workload. Medical knowledge and procedural execution were measured through a multiple-choice questionnaire, with future research planned to include stress-related biomedical data.<\/jats:p>\n                <jats:p>In this simulation, Mission Control\u2019s medical knowledge averaged 63.67%, while astronauts scored 50%; procedural knowledge was 51.3% and 56.82%, respectively. Teamwork assessments revealed strengths in cooperation but weaknesses in leadership and communication under time pressure. Task-load results indicated higher temporal demands for Mission control and greater frustration for astronauts, highlighting differences in workload perception across roles.<\/jats:p>\n                <jats:p>These findings suggest that structured simulations can identify gaps in both technical and non-technical skills, offering valuable improvement opportunities.
