In the genome of the marine bacterium<jats:italic>Shewanella frigidimarina<\/jats:italic>NCIMB 400, the gene tagged as SFRI_RS12295 encodes a protein from this family. Here, the cloning, expression, purification and crystallization of this protein are reported, together with its preliminary X-ray crystallographic analysis to 1.35\u2005\u00c5 resolution. The SIP crystals belonged to the monoclinic space group<jats:italic>P<\/jats:italic>2<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>, with unit-cell parameters<jats:italic>a<\/jats:italic>= 48.04,<jats:italic>b<\/jats:italic>= 78.31,<jats:italic>c<\/jats:italic>= 67.71\u2005\u00c5, \u03b1 = 90, \u03b2\u00a0=\u00a099.94, \u03b3 = 90\u00b0, and are predicted to contain two molecules per asymmetric unit.
