The dihedral angle between the pyrazine ring (r.m.s. deviation = 0.008\u2005\u00c5) and the carboxylate group in the anion is 3.7\u2005(3)\u00b0. The extended structure of the salt contains a supramolecular zigzag tape in which cations and anions are engaged in strong and highly directional N\u2014H...N,O hydrogen bonds, forming<jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub><jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>(8) and<jats:italic>R<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub><jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>(9) graph-set motifs.
