The results of two empirical tests (Bradford analyses) demonstrate that different operationalizations of the concept of \u201csubject\u201d produce quite different lists of core\u2010journals. Further, an empirical test reveals that Bradford analyses function discriminatorily against minority views.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Practical implications<\/jats:title><jats:p>Bradford analysis can no longer be regarded as an objective and neutral method.
