The selection of an e\u2010books provider, MyiLibrary, and subsequent ordering, cataloguing and promotion activities are outlined.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>This paper outlines the importance of tailoring the approach to e\u2010books acquisition to the individual institution. It is found that authentication is a major issue and that for e\u2010books packages to be successful, technical problems need to be kept to a minimum.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Practical implications<\/jats:title><jats:p>Examples to assist others in setting up e\u2010books provision are given. Technical difficulties and the range of titles available are both impediments to providing a full e\u2010books service.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Originality\/value<\/jats:title><jats:p>E\u2010books appear to provide greater access and flexibility to library users. Information and Learning Services fully intends to extend the range of e\u2010books available to students.
