The purpose of this paper is to present a novel intensity, orientation codes and geometry (IOCG) histogram variant of the mean\u2010shift algorithm for object tracking.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title><jats:p>Feature cues of intensity, orientation codes and geometric information are fused together to form an IOCG histogram in combination with a conventional mean\u2010shift\u2010based tracking algorithm.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.
