The primary goal of this paper is to propose a two\u2010phase procedure to select an ERP vendor and a suitable ERP software.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title><jats:p>In the first phase of the proposed method the preliminary actions \u2013 such as constructing a project team, collecting all possible information about ERP vendors and systems, and identifying the ERP system characteristics \u2013 are established.
