This four\u2010phase methodology relies on varying information styles and data streams within the context of exploratory, comparative, and large dataset analysis.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>The synthesis of research approach highlights the strengths, weaknesses, and the linkage to system thinking in theory and in practice and are illustrated by the case.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Practical implications<\/jats:title><jats:p>Mixed methods approaches are increasingly sought and used in multi\u2010disciplinary research and applied settings.
