The article also provides a detailed summary of the Dataset Acquisition, Accessibility and Annotation e\u2010Research Technology (DART) project.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title><jats:p>A review of relevant government reports, documents and general literature was conducted.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>Projects currently being conducted in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia are part of an international movement that aims to use modern ICTs to enhance e\u2010research.
