The purpose of this paper is to review the subject of information re\u2010finding comprehensively, and introduce to readers the underlying techniques and mechanisms used in information re\u2010finding.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title><jats:p>After analyzing users' information re\u2010finding behaviors and their requirements, the paper studies the natural way of re\u2010finding in human memory, and reviews state\u2010of\u2010the\u2010art techniques and tools developed in the fields of web and personal information management for information re\u2010finding.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>Four main re\u2010finding support techniques on the Web are: re\u2010finding tools in Web browsers; history service; re\u2010finding search engine; and voice\u2010based re\u2010finding.
