This study aims to investigate the status of automated data management in university libraries across Jammu and Kashmir, India.<\/jats:p>\n<\/jats:sec>\n<jats:sec>\n<jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title>\n<jats:p>Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through structured questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed among 20 Library Professionals. Out of the 20 questionnaires distributed, 13 responses were received, resulting in a response rate of 65%.<\/jats:p>\n<\/jats:sec>\n<jats:sec>\n<jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Findings<\/jats:title>\n<jats:p>Results indicate varying levels of knowledge regarding automated data management practices and significant challenges, including inadequate infrastructure and limited information and communication technology access. Despite these obstacles, there is a high interest in adopting automated data management practices.<\/jats:p>\n<\/jats:sec>\n<jats:sec>\n<jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Social implications<\/jats:title>\n<jats:p>Improving automated data management in libraries can enhance knowledge dissemination and access to information, contributing to educational and social development.<\/jats:p>\n<\/jats:sec>\n<jats:sec>\n<jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Originality\/value<\/jats:title>\n<jats:p>This study focuses on automated data management practices within university libraries in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It provides insights into the specific barriers and opportunities faced by these libraries.
