{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2025,8,2]],"date-time":"2025-08-02T17:30:18Z","timestamp":1754155818204,"version":"3.41.2"},"reference-count":18,"publisher":"Emerald","issue":"2","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2013,6,21]],"date-time":"2013-06-21T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1371772800000},"content-version":"tdm","delay-in-days":0,"URL":"https:\/\/www.emerald.com\/insight\/site-policies"}],"content-domain":{"domain":[],"crossmark-restriction":false},"short-container-title":[],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2013,6,21]]},"abstract":"<jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Purpose<\/jats:title><jats:p>The purpose of this paper is to propose a scheduling method called the \u201cHierarchical Asynchronous Harmonic Broadcasting (H\u2010AHB)\u201d method, to reduce the waiting time for heterogeneous clients.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Design\/methodology\/approach<\/jats:title><jats:p>The authors analyze and evaluate the performance of the proposed H\u2010AHB method.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Findings<\/jats:title><jats:p>It was confirmed that the proposed method gives shorter average waiting time than the conventional methods.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Research limitations\/implications<\/jats:title><jats:p>A future direction of this study will involve making a scheduling method where the server broadcasts multiple videos.<\/jats:p><\/jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-heading\">Practical implications<\/jats:title><jats:p>In general broadcasting systems, the server broadcasts the same data repetitively and clients wait until the first portion of the data is broadcast.
