The T helper 2 (Th2) cells induce and T regulatory (Treg) cells suppress several features of allergic inflammation. Our aim was to investigate the role of allergen\u2010specific T regulatory type 1 (Tr1) cells and CD4\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    CD25\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    Treg cells and toll\u2010like receptors (TLRs) on IgE, IgG4 and IgA production.\n                  <\/jats:p>\n                  <jats:p>\n                    <jats:bold>Methods:\u2002<\/jats:bold>\n                    Germline or productive Ig\u2010transcripts are determined by real\u2010time reverse transcriptase\u2010polymerase chain reaction, secreted Igs are measured by enzyme\u2010linked immunosorbent assay and the frequency of Ig\u2010producing plasma cells is investigated by enzyme\u2010linked immunosorbent spot. Circulating CD4\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    CD25\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    Treg cells and allergen\u2010specific Tr1 cells are used.\n                  <\/jats:p>\n                  <jats:p>\n                    <jats:bold>Results:\u2002<\/jats:bold>\n                    Both allergen\u2010specific, interleukin\u201010\u2010secreting Tr1 cells and CD4\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    CD25\n                    <jats:sup>+<\/jats:sup>\n                    Treg cells from healthy individuals induced IgG4 and suppressed IgE production in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and purified B\u2010cell cultures.
