The CD spectra of the four peptides, obtained under cryogenic and solvent titration conditions, were consistent with three conformational components (a left\u2010handed extended helix, an \u03b1\u2010helix and a 3<jats:sub>10<\/jats:sub> helix) for peptides <jats:bold>A<\/jats:bold> and <jats:bold>C<\/jats:bold> and four components (a \u03b2\u2010turn of type II, an \u03b1\u2010helix, a \u03b3\u2010turn and a 3<jats:sub>10<\/jats:sub> helix) for peptides <jats:bold>B<\/jats:bold> and <jats:bold>USA<\/jats:bold>.
