In the bovine pineal the enzyme exhibited a Km value of 31.45 \u00b1 4.98 \u03bcM and a Vmax value of 30.90 \u00b1 1.18 pmol N\u2010acetyltryptamine\/min\/mg protein for tryptamine, and a Km value of 28.72 \u00b1 7.50 \u03bcM and a Vmax value of 25.90 \u03bc 1.50 pmol N\u2010acetyltryptamine\/min\/mg protein for acetyl CoA.
