Hence, cultivation of <jats:italic>Pleurotus citrinopileatus<\/jats:italic> and <jats:italic>Pleurotus salmoneo\u2010stramineus<\/jats:italic> was tested using <jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SCG<\/jats:styled-content> which enabled maximum production yield of <jats:italic>P.\u00a0citrinopileatus<\/jats:italic> which was of 25.1% (w\/w). Variable antidiabetic potential was observed between aqueous and enzymatic extracts (3.8%\u201329% inhibition) regardless species and substrates, whereas aqueous extract of <jats:italic>P.\u00a0citrinopileatus<\/jats:italic> grown in substrate without <jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">SCG<\/jats:styled-content> stood out presenting the highest antioxidant activity and inhibition activity of angiotensin I\u2010converting enzyme (<jats:styled-content style=\"fixed-case\">IC<\/jats:styled-content><jats:sub>50<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a0123\u00a0\u03bcg\u00a0mL<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>).
