Growth rate and feed efficiency ration was significantly influenced by temperature and fish size. Overall growth rate was highest at 6\u00b0\u2003C (0\u00b768%\u2003day<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>) and lowest at 12\u00b0\u2003C (0\u00b748%\u2003day<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>), while the 4 and 8\u00b0\u2003C, and the T\u2010step groups had similar overall growth rates, <jats:italic>i.e<\/jats:italic>. 0\u00b759, 0\u00b762 and 0\u00b751%\u2003day<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> respectively. Optimal temperature for growth (<jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>opt <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic><\/jats:sub>) and feed efficiency ratio (T<jats:sub>opt FCE<\/jats:sub>) decreased as fish size increased, indicating an ontogenetic reduction in <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>opt <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic><\/jats:sub> and <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>opt FCE<\/jats:sub>. The results suggest a <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>opt <jats:italic>G<\/jats:italic><\/jats:sub> of juvenile spotted wolffish in the size range 135\u2013380\u2003g, dropping from 7\u00b79\u00b0\u2003C for 130\u2013135\u2003g to 6\u00b76\u00b0\u2003C for 360\u2013380\u2003g juveniles. The <jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>opt FCE<\/jats:sub> dropped from 7\u00b74\u00b0\u2003C for 120\u2013150\u2003g to 6\u00b75\u00b0\u2003C for 300\u2013380\u2003g juveniles. A wider parabolic regression curve between growth, feed efficiency ratio and temperature as fish size increased, may indicate increased temperature tolerance with size.
