The fin was fully developed at 11\u00b76 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub> (standard length) and by 16\u00b70 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub> most elements of the fin were ossified. The pelvic fins were the last pair to develop and rudiments of these were first detected at 7\u00b79 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub>. The pelvic fin and girdle were completely formed and ossified at 16\u00b70 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub>. The development of dorsal and anal fins began at <jats:italic>c.<\/jats:italic> 6\u00b75\u20137\u00b70 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub> with the formation of 10 cartilaginous dorsal proximal radials and eight cartilaginous ventral proximal radials. The three cartilaginous predorsals (supraneurals) appeared at 7\u00b77 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub> and the ossification of dorsal and anal proximal and distal radials began, respectively, at 10\u00b75 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub> and 11\u00b73 mm <jats:italic>L<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>S<\/jats:sub>. Ossified structures in the fins were also classified according to their origin, as being either dermal or endochondral.
