The higher\u2010level phylogeny of\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae has never been robustly reconstructed using molecular phylogenetic data or a comprehensive sample of higher taxa, and its internal relationships and evolutionary history remain the subjects of ongoing debate. We reconstructed the higher\u2010level phylogeny of\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae using phylogenomic data from 522 single copy nuclear genes, generated via anchored hybrid enrichment. Our taxon sample (31\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n hrysomeloidea, four outgroup taxa: two\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n urculionoidea and two\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n ucujoidea) included exemplars of all families and 23 of 30 subfamilies of\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n hrysomeloidea (18 of 19 non\u2010chrysomelid\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n hrysomeloidea), with a focus on the large family\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae. Our results reveal a monophyletic\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae\n s.s.<\/jats:roman>\n in all but one analysis, and a polyphyletic\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae\n s.l.<\/jats:roman>\n When monophyletic,\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae\n s.s.<\/jats:roman>\n was sister to the family\n D<\/jats:styled-content>\n isteniidae. Relationships among the subfamilies of\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycidae\n s.s.<\/jats:roman>\n were also recovered with strong statistical support except for\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n erambycinae being made paraphyletic by\n Dorcasomus<\/jats:italic>\n A<\/jats:styled-content>\n udinet\u2010\n S<\/jats:styled-content>\n erville (\n D<\/jats:styled-content>\n orcasominae) in the nucleotide (but not amino acid) trees. Most other chrysomeloid families represented by more than one terminal taxon\u00a0\u2013\u00a0\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n hrysomelidae,\n D<\/jats:styled-content>\n isteniidae,\n V<\/jats:styled-content>\n esperidae and\n O<\/jats:styled-content>\n rsodacnidae\u00a0\u2013\u00a0were monophyletic, but\n M<\/jats:styled-content>\n egalopodidae was rendered paraphyletic by\n Cheloderus<\/jats:italic>\n G<\/jats:styled-content>\n ray (\n O<\/jats:styled-content>\n xypeltidae). Our study corroborates some relationships within\n C<\/jats:styled-content>\n hrysomeloidea that were previously inferred from morphological data, while also reporting several novel relationships.
