The supramolecular control of conformation through multiple weaker interactions has been exploited in organometallic catalysts that can open or close access to reactive sites around a metal center.\n            <jats:bold>\n              Yoon\n              <jats:italic>et al.<\/jats:italic>\n            <\/jats:bold>\n            (p.\n            <jats:related-article xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" ext-link-type=\"doi\" page=\"66\" related-article-type=\"in-this-issue\" vol=\"330\" xlink:href=\"10.1126\/science.1193928\">66<\/jats:related-article>\n            ) now show how chloride ions can be used to control a rhodium polymerization catalyst in which two metal centers are bridged by a linker bearing aromatic groups. When Cl\n            <jats:sup>\u2212<\/jats:sup>\n            is present, reactive sites remain available on the metal centers. When Cl\n            <jats:sup>\u2212<\/jats:sup>\n            is removed by abstracting agents, aromatic groups on one of the other ligands on the Rh centers can bind to the linker to form a triple-layer sandwich structure.
