Purified and disrupted suspensions of\n            <jats:italic>C. burnetii<\/jats:italic>\n            incorporated\n            <jats:sup>14<\/jats:sup>\n            C-labeled\n            <jats:sc>l<\/jats:sc>\n            -leucine,\n            <jats:sc>l<\/jats:sc>\n            -phenylalanine and algal hydrolysate. Livers of infected guinea pigs and chick embryos had a greater incorporation rate at the height of infection than comparable preparations from uninfected animals.
