This study demonstrated that complementarity between optimized culture-dependent and -independent approaches is highly beneficial for comprehensive FUM species profiling by detecting higher FUM species diversity than previously reported, including identification of unreported species belonging to the genera\n            <jats:italic>Lactobacillus<\/jats:italic>\n            ,\n            <jats:italic>Limosilactobacillus<\/jats:italic>\n            , and\n            <jats:italic>Latilactobacillus<\/jats:italic>\n            and putative novel\n            <jats:italic>Corynebacterium<\/jats:italic>\n            species.\n
