C"],"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>It is known that a three Higgs doublet model (3HDM) symmetric under an exact <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$A_4$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\">\n                  <mml:msub>\n                    <mml:mi>A<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mn>4<\/mml:mn>\n                  <\/mml:msub>\n                <\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> symmetry is not compatible with nonzero quark masses and\/or non-block-diagonal CKM matrix. We show that a 3HDM with softly broken <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$A_4$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\">\n                  <mml:msub>\n                    <mml:mi>A<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mn>4<\/mml:mn>\n                  <\/mml:msub>\n                <\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> terms in the scalar potential does allow for a fit of quark mass matrices. Moreover, the result is consistent with <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$m_h=125\\,\\text {GeV}$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\">\n                  <mml:mrow>\n                    <mml:msub>\n                      <mml:mi>m<\/mml:mi>\n                      <mml:mi>h<\/mml:mi>\n                    <\/mml:msub>\n                    <mml:mo>=<\/mml:mo>\n                    <mml:mn>125<\/mml:mn>\n                    <mml:mspace\/>\n                    <mml:mtext>GeV<\/mml:mtext>\n                  <\/mml:mrow>\n                <\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> and the <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$h \\rightarrow WW,ZZ$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\">\n                  <mml:mrow>\n                    <mml:mi>h<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mo>\u2192<\/mml:mo>\n                    <mml:mi>W<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mi>W<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mo>,<\/mml:mo>\n                    <mml:mi>Z<\/mml:mi>\n                    <mml:mi>Z<\/mml:mi>\n                  <\/mml:mrow>\n                <\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> signal.
