This implementation is achieved without significantly degrading the network's performance, when only inhibitory connections (i.e., J<jats:sub>ij<\/jats:sub> <0) are used. The theoretical analysis of such a network, and its experimental implementation, exploiting a liquid crystal light valve for the neurons and an array of subholograms for the interconnections, are presented. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1142\/s012906579100039x","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2004,11,29]],"date-time":"2004-11-29T02:14:37Z","timestamp":1101694477000},"page":"355-360","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["AN ALL-OPTICAL HOPFIELD NETWORK: THEORY AND EXPERIMENT"],"prefix":"10.1142","volume":"01","author":[{"given":"Harel","family":"Shouval","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Electronics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot 76100, Israel"}]},{"given":"Isaac","family":"Shariv","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Electronics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot 76100, Israel"}]},{"given":"Tal","family":"Grossman","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Electronics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot 76100, Israel"}]},{"given":"Asher A.","family":"Friesem","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Electronics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot 76100, Israel"}]},{"given":"Eytan","family":"Domany","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Dept. of Electronics, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot 76100, Israel"}]}],"member":"219","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2011,11,21]]},"container-title":["International Journal of Neural Systems"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.worldscientific.com\/doi\/pdf\/10.1142\/S012906579100039X","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2019,8,7]],"date-time":"2019-08-07T01:53:05Z","timestamp":1565142785000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.worldscientific.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1142\/S012906579100039X"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[1991,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"04","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2011,11,21]]},"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1991,1]]}},"alternative-id":["10.1142\/S012906579100039X"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1142\/s012906579100039x","relation":{},"ISSN":["0129-0657","1793-6462"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0129-0657","type":"print"},{"value":"1793-6462","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[1991,1]]}}}
