Lett."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2006,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> This paper presents our experience in parallelizing a Monte Carlo\/fluid hybrid simulation of radio frequency glow discharge in plasma physics. The application is a dynamic loosely-synchronous system with time-increasing workload. We adopt adaptive processor allocation to effectively parallelize the time-increasing workload. The results show that adaptive processor allocation has potential to improve performance of parallel applications with time-varying workloads.
