We introduce a strong version of Wald's Axiom of excess demand functions [Formula: see text], namely \"there exists \u03c3 &gt; 0 such that p, q \u2208 P, q<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup> Z(p) - \u03b4 \u2264 0,|\u03b4| &lt; \u03c3, and Z(q) \u2260 Z(p) imply p<jats:sup>T<\/jats:sup>Z(q) + \u03b4 &gt; 0\". Under some assumptions, Z satisfies the strong version of Wald's Axiom iff -Z is a s-quasimonotone function. Consequently, an excess demand function Z satisfies the strong version of Wald's Axiom iff -Z is stable with respect to the pseudomonotonicity property (i.e. there exists \u220a &gt; 0 such that -Z + a fulfills the pseudomonotonicity property for all a \u2208 \u211d<jats:sup>n<\/jats:sup> satisfying \u2016a\u2016 &lt; \u220a).
