The characteristic steep slope of the network gain near the resonant frequency makes the performance susceptible to the changes in component values. To accommodate the effect of varying component values, appropriate amplitude and phase over-drive capabilities in the ac source are required to maintain the magnet current of desired amplitude and in desired phase. A method of analysis of component tolerances using general purpose circuit simulation software, PSpice, is proposed in this letter. Using proposed normalized circuit description of the parallel resonant scheme, worst-case combination of component tolerances is determined. The evaluation of the effect of component tolerances in terms of required magnitude and phase over-drive of the ac source is presented under illustrative circuit conditions. Effect of various parameters on the over-drive is examined. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1142\/s0218126605002416","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2005,9,5]],"date-time":"2005-09-05T10:57:38Z","timestamp":1125917858000},"page":"439-452","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["COMPONENT TOLERANCE ANALYSIS OF A PARALLEL RESONANT MAGNET EXCITATION SCHEME FOR RAPID CYCLING SYNCHROTRON USING PSpice"],"prefix":"10.1142","volume":"14","author":[{"given":"MANGESH","family":"BORAGE","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"Power Supplies Division, Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, 452 013, India"}]},{"given":"SUNIL","family":"TIWARI","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Power Supplies Division, Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, 452 013, India"}]},{"given":"SWARNA","family":"KOTAIAH","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Power Supplies Division, Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore, 452 013, India"}]}],"member":"219","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2011,11,21]]},"reference":[{"key":"rf3","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","first-page":"1092","DOI":"10.1109\/23.7505","volume":"35","author":"Karady G.","journal-title":"IEEE Trans.
