This control scheme is derived from the current mode control (CMC) architecture to further improve its transient performance. The advantages of the converter are as follows: (a) Superior transient response. The recovery time for step-up\/step-down is within 1.6[Formula: see text]\u00a0[Formula: see text]s. (b) The structure of the scheme is simple and easy to implement. (c) For an input voltage of 3.0\u20133.6[Formula: see text]V and output voltage of 1.0\u20132.5[Formula: see text]V, the converter maintains a constant switching frequency. This feature solves the EMI issue in applications. (d) Although the proposed scheme is derived from the CMC architecture, it does not require a current sensor. The control topology, analysis, operation principle and circuit realization of the converter are presented in this paper.
