It is therefore of crucial importance to quickly detect and accurately identify any incidences of leakage. In this paper, the mass flow balance method and the transient flow reflection method are used in combination, with multiple detection surfaces used to improve the positional accuracy and stability of the system. Changes in different geometric factors of the pipeline can be simulated, combined with various detection surfaces, using the transient flow reflection method; this reduces position error by up to 1.10%; When the leakage hole is located close to the pipe inlet, the position error of the transient flow reflection method for multiple detection surfaces decreases, with a position error of 8.11%. When two sensors are installed, the position error of the detection surfaces located at the outlet and 0.5[Formula: see text]m away from the outlet is below 2.00%.
