The transistor chopper controls the speed of a separately excited DC machine. <\/jats:p><jats:p> The Boost rectifier permits the regeneration of energy from the motor to the single-phase mains, maintaining in all operating points a practically sinusoidal input current, with a THD of 2.5%. <\/jats:p><jats:p> The balancing of the two filter capacitors is achieved by using and additional control loop.
