Bifurcation Chaos"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2004,11]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> We consider a discrete time deterministic chaotic dynamical system, x<jats:sub>n+1<\/jats:sub>=\u03c4(x<jats:sub>n<\/jats:sub>), where \u03c4 is a nonlinear map of the unit interval into itself. We assume that \u03c4 is piecewise expanding and piecewise C<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>. The effects of noise contamination are modeled by x<jats:sub>n+1<\/jats:sub>=\u03c4(x<jats:sub>n<\/jats:sub>)+\u03be<jats:sub>n<\/jats:sub>, where \u03be<jats:sub>n<\/jats:sub> is an independent random variable with small noise amplitude.
