J. Bifurcation Chaos"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2026,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>An interesting problem on offset boosting in switched chaotic systems is considered in this paper. One aim is to realize offset boosting of chaotic attractors under the condition of switching. The other aim is to realize multiscroll chaotic attractors based on a novel synchronous approach between switched systems and switching signals. Two 3D linear systems as switching chaos generators are designed. One of the two linear systems is stable and has a spiral and convergent trajectory. The other is unstable and has a spiral and divergent trajectory. A simple planar switching signal is designed to generate a novel chaotic attractor. An appropriate constant is introduced into a common state variable of two linear systems and the switching signal synchronously. Multiple coexisting chaotic attractors with different initial conditions are generated based on offset boosting. By replacing, respectively, the offset boosting constant with two classes of appropriate sign functions, odd and even multiscroll chaotic attractors can be generated successfully in switched chaotic systems. A constant parameter in the switching signal can control the amplitude of multiscroll chaotic attractors.
