Bifurcation Chaos"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2026,2]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Power and Data Synchronous Transmission (PDST) is a form of power line communication that leverages power modulation via switched-mode power supplies, enabling efficient monitoring and control while reducing system constructional and operational costs. Ensuring secure and robust communication is critical for PDST systems in DC microgrids. This paper proposes a Reference-Modulated Differential Chaos Shift Keying (RM-DCSK) transceiver that employs a 2D discrete memristor-coupled Chebyshev map for both spreading and encryption. The chaotic nature of the map ensures high entropy in the transmitted signal. To ensure confidentiality, a stream cipher is used where the encryption keys are random numbers generated by a Pseudorandom Number Generator (PRNG) based on the proposed map. The cipher uses bitwise XOR operations to encrypt the data prior to modulation. Security is further reinforced by initializing the memristor state using an SHA-512 hash, a design aimed at resisting both eavesdropping and differential attacks. Bit Error Rate (BER) analysis shows optimal and comparable performance to conventional chaotic maps, while maintaining increased complexity for enhanced security.
