Algebra Comput."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2025,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Parallel geodesics are crucial in the study of acylindricity, the Burnside problem, and canonical representatives in Gromov hyperbolic groups. In this paper, we show that for any pair of sufficiently long parallel geodesics in a random group at density [Formula: see text] (which is a hyperbolic group), one can fit a van Kampen diagram with only one layer of faces. Using this result, we provide an upper bound, depending only on the density, on the maximal number of pairwise parallel geodesics in such groups.
