Log."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2001,11]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> We study the groups Gal <jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub>(T) and Gal <jats:sub>KP<\/jats:sub>(T), and the associated equivalence relations E<jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub> and E<jats:sub>KP<\/jats:sub>, attached to a first order theory T. An example is given where E<jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub>\u2260 E<jats:sub>KP<\/jats:sub> (a non G-compact theory). It is proved that E<jats:sub>KP<\/jats:sub> is the composition of E<jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub> and the closure of E<jats:sub>L<\/jats:sub>.
