J. Image Grap."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2010,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> Nowadays, point set surfaces have attracted much research attention due to the widespread laser range scanners. In this paper we evaluate several well known methods in terms of progressive point-sampled geometry. The selection of these methods is based on a classification of different surface representations. To serve as a common basis for comparison, a general progressive framework is adopted. The comparison has been done with both data from graphics and CAD models.
