Biol."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2012,10]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> The contrast between the pomp of celebrating the first full human genome sequencing in 2000 and the cautious tone of recollections a decade thereafter could hardly be greater. The promises with regard to medical cures and biotechnology applications have been realized not even nearly to the expectations. Understanding the human genomes means knowing the genes' and proteins' functions and their interconnectedness via biomolecular mechanisms.
