We present lower bounds on the general Randi\u0107 index for trees in [Formula: see text] for [Formula: see text]. Those bounds generalize lower bounds on the second Zagreb index for trees in [Formula: see text] presented by Borovi\u0107anin in 2015, since the second Zagreb index is a special case of the general Randi\u0107 index.
