A"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1991,11,30]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> We study the structure of effective actions of closed-string theory at order \u03b1\u2032<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup>, when the dilaton field is included. We show, in particular, that the way field-redefinition ambiguities are fixed at order a\u2019 affects the order-\u03b1\u2032<jats:sup>2<\/jats:sup> results, and find that, as a consequence, different forms for the effective action existing in the literature are in fact equivalent.
