J."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2021,12]]},"abstract":"<jats:p> Objective: The\u00a0aim\u00a0of\u00a0this\u00a0study\u00a0was\u00a0to compare the\u00a0role\u00a0of a\u00a0chest\u00a0physiotherapy (CP) intervention to no intervention on the respiratory status of\u00a0children under two years of\u00a0age,\u00a0with mild-to-moderate bronchiolitis. <\/jats:p><jats:p> Methods: Out of 80 eligible children observed in the Emergency Room, 45 children completed the study with 28 randomized to the intervention group and 17 to the control group. The intervention\u00a0protocol, applied\u00a0in\u00a0an\u00a0ambulatory setting, consisted of combined techniques of passive prolonged slow expiration, rhinopharyngeal clearance and provoked\u00a0cough. The\u00a0control\u00a0group\u00a0was\u00a0assessed with no chest physiotherapy intervention.
